Milan Milanov

Milan Milanov was born on November 20th, 1989 in Novi Sad. After completing his primary and secondary education (Isidor Bajić Secondary Music School), he enrolled in a double bass study program at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad in the class of professor MA Ivica Marušević (2008/09). He graduated on August 25th, 2012 and completed his master studies on October 3rd, 2014 with the average grade of 9.89, thus gaining the title of Master in Music (double bass). He performed at numerous concerts and shows in the country and abroad as a soloist, chamber or orchestral performer (USA, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Romania, Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other); and at festivals (NOMUS, BEMUS, Festival of Street Musicians - Serbia, Armel Opera Festival – Hungary, Festine – Slovenia, Dubrovnik Summer Festival – Croatia, Kotor Art – Montenegro, etc.). From March of 2013 to June 2014 he worked as a teaching associate (main course – double bass) at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, and currently holds the position of solo double bass at Serbian National Theatre Opera since September 2012. He performed at over forty shows of various styles, some of which premiered in Serbia. He is a regular and long-term member of Camerata Novi Sad chamber orchestra, Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra and others. He won the Exit Foundation scholarship (for participating in an international project, USA) and Republic Foundation for the Development of Scientific and Artistic Youth from 2010 to 2013. Apart from double bass, he plays the tambourine, as well as other plucked string instruments.
